SORRY! BUT I HAD TO CUT MY CURRENT BROADCAST! with a brief interruption. Yep that's me talking to that "young strapping youth" about slavery. Well as you can see I was at the barbershop giving that youngin a lesson. Well previously me and my barber got into a debate about nationality. I asked him if a white man came to him and said he was African would you believe him? He said NO and insisted that no white person could be African. So I said what if he said that his parents grandfather moved there and his father was born there and he was born there will he be African. He said no bc Africans aren't white! As i argued with these people, they were "unknowingly" confusing ethnicity with nationality. So I explained the difference and these mothasuckas still was arguing. Another guy said white people don't have a spirit! Wth? He also said that he teach white people how to talk to him! lol at that ish. What do yall think?

People always confuse nationality with ethnicity or race. On Thursday, my professor asked us when we first realized our nationality and everyone in my class was so confused. We started talking about race... Clearly, we were wrong.

Well I have a friend who is half mexican ethnically but you would never know it because she looks white. One of her sons is 3/4 mexican and looks white, but they are actually what I would consider American's because they were not born in Mexico.
Obviously it goes without saying about both sides with the problems in this area, and probably always will. For example, I will never understand, when you are referring to someone in a conversation, why is it necessary to mention their ethnicity?
I over hear people all the time talking and they will say "my friend so and so...he's black....did this or that" and I think to myself, what does it matter what color he is? I wish someone could explain this to me.
I don't think I ever referred to anyone like that when my boy was growing up and in fact when he noticed it for himself, he referred to people of different ethnicities as someone "with a really good tan".
So in summary I agree about your argument that nationality and ethnicity are different, I got off topic
TONS of people don't know the difference between ethnicity and nationality. i'm mixed, and i get asked ALL THE TIME what my "nationality" is.. when i answer i'm "american" they get all frustrated cuz they meant to ask what my ethnicity is, hahahaaa..
